In the vibrant culinary world of the early 1970s, Tak Chu honed his craft alongside the elite chefs of New York City’s bustling Chinatown and the flavorful kitchens of Hong Kong. Dreaming big, Tak moved to St. Louis, MO, determined to craft a dining experience uniquely his own. His vision materialized into the acclaimed China Peace restaurant, a beloved gem of St. Louis. His culinary journey continued to Omaha in 1995, where Rice Bowl was born—a fusion of time-honored Chinese recipes and a fresh American twist, tailored to delight the palates of his new friends and patrons.
For over 25 years, Rice Bowl has proudly stood as an Omaha culinary landmark, serving savory Chinese-American dishes that have captured the hearts and taste buds of the community. As the restaurant embarks on a new chapter, Tak's son, Justin Chu, joins the fold, ushering Rice Bowl back to its cherished roots as a family-owned establishment.
